Silicone oil is a synthetic polymer with a chemical silicon–oxygen (Si–O) backbone. Its most common form is known as PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane).

Silicone oils are high-performance, chemically stable, multi-purpose specialty fluids. Thanks to their ability to work across a wide temperature range and to provide superior lubricity and protection on surfaces, they are widely preferred in industrial and commercial applications.

  • Silicon (Si) → originates from quartz/sand

  • Oxygen (O) → bonds with silicon to form the strong Si–O chain.

OH-polymer oils, thanks to the reactive hydroxyl (-OH) groups at both ends of the polymer chain, are the main building block of room-temperature-curing (RTV) silicone systems. With high purity and various viscosity options, we add functionality and durability to your production processes.

  • Reactive End Groups: the hydroxyl (-OH) groups at both ends of the chain are the active sites that enable room-temperature curing (RTV) of the polymer.

  • Polymer Backbone: the central silicon–oxygen (Si-O-Si) bonds give the material high heat resistance and flexibility.

  • Methyl Groups: the methyl groups bonded to silicon atoms give the polymer its water-repellent (hydrophobic) property.

  • n Value: represents the number of repeating units in the chain; as it increases, the product’s viscosity (flow) increases.
